VLADIVOSTOK, Sept. 3 (Xinhua) — The 9th Eastern Economic Forum (EEF) kicked off here in this Russian Far East city on Tuesday, attracting more than 6,000 participants from 76 countries and regions.
The forum, themed “Far East 2030. Combining Strengths to Create New Potential,” runs from Tuesday to Friday and features around 100 events across seven tracks, including international cooperation, technological sovereignty, and transport logistics.
Russian President Vladimir Putin is expected to attend Thursday’s plenary session to discuss economic and geopolitical topics, with bilateral talks with visiting leaders also on his agenda.
The opening day of the EEF featured the Second International Forum Falcon Day, which focused on conserving falcon species and showcased advanced monitoring technologies. Another standout event was the “Arab Village,” an open-air cultural space celebrating Arabian culture with live falconry demonstrations.
The four-day EEF also has a rich sports and cultural program, which includes the traditional “Far East Street” exhibition, an international chess tournament, several sailing races, and the cultural festival “Vladivostok Seasons.”
The forum’s final day will spotlight opportunities in science, business, and media for young managers and entrepreneurs.
Established in 2015, the EEF is a key international platform for establishing and strengthening ties within the Russian and global investment communities and for a comprehensive expert evaluation of the economic potential of the Russian Far East, the investment opportunities it offers, and business conditions within advanced special economic zones. ■
